Does the Flatshifter System change gear faster than manual shifting?

Yes. The Flatshifter System has been back to back tested against a manual gear change system and recorded a savings of over 1/5 of a second per shift. Just think how many gearshifts per lap you do!

Why choose electric over pneumatic (Air) systems?

With Flatshifter electronic operation there is no need for large, heavy and unreliable air compressors, tanks, regulators, valves, etc. The Flatshifter Max system is fully solid state operation with only 1 moving part providing ultimate reliability. Electric operation also means that it won't rob your engine of the power that an air system will take and you don't have to worry about your tank running out of air on the final lap.

Will the Flatshifter system allow me to drive completely clutchlessly?

Yes. Using the Flatshifter Expert or Pro systems up & downshifting will be clutchless. The clutch will only be needed when pulling away and coming to a complete stop. The Flatshifter Club system enables clutchless upshifting only.

How often should the Flatshifter Max system be serviced?

The Flatshifter Max system does not require any maintenance unless it has been used in a particularly hostile environment.

Does Flatshifter offer a Factory Fitting Service?

No, but all systems are designed for D.I.Y. fitment or can be fitted by any competant mechanic. We also have various centres who can fit them for you if needed.

Can I use any Flatshifter system in conjunction with my manual gear lever?

Yes. With any Flatshifter system installed you can use either the steering wheel mounted paddles to change gear or your standard manual gear lever at any time. Both methods are completely interchangeable at all times.

Can I select neutral using any Flatshifter system?

Yes. With any Flatshifter system installed you can use either the steering wheel mounted paddles or your standard manual gear lever to select neutral.

I have heard that all quickshifter systems need a lot of setting up to get them adjusted and working correctly, normally a separate test session, is this true?

Normally with most systems on the market, yes, but the Flatshifter systems are designed and pre-adjusted to work perfectly straight out of the box first time every time.
